Biography
Justin Pruitt was born on October 6, 1987 in Oklahoma City. He started writing music at the age of thirteen, completing his first song shortly thereafter. His sound is a mixture of acoustic Pop and Rock and has been compared to the likes of John Mayer and Jack Johnson.
While attending Classen School of Advanced Studies, Justin enrolled in the guitar program with his main focus being music from the Classical Era. “Playing Classical Music was the first stepping stone,” he said. “It allowed me to explore different tonalities with the guitar and musically molded me into what I am today.” Justin began to apply his knowledge he attained from music classes to his own music. For his high-school graduation, he wrote a song for his class and performed it with fellow classmates during commencement at Cox Convention Center.
For further music education, Justin joined the guitar program at Oklahoma City University in the fall of 2006. At OCU, Justin met other students with the same passion for music. Justin recorded a five song self-titled debut EP with four acoustic and vocal tracks and one full band recording. In Sept. 2007, Justin held his CD release show at Galileo Bar & Grill in the Paseo Arts District. “The CD release show was a great success. It was standing room only.” he said.
He has played at venues such as JJ's Alley, Bricktown Brewery, The Red Cup, Full Circle Bookstore, Bin 73, Plaza Java, Bricktown Ballroom and more.
